Climb a Volcano

We say you can do no better than join our three-day trek to the summit of Mount Rinjani in Indonesia. Let our skilled guide lead you to the peak of this magnificent 3,762 metre rock. Conquering Mt Rinjani involves...

• Two nights' camping on the volcanic crater

Mt Rinjani can be climbed from two directions so this trek involve no backtracking. Expect to be pushed close to your limit. This is not technical climb, but neither is it for the fainthearted-a base level of fitness is highly recommended.

Suitability: This experience is high intensity and participants need a high level of fitness. It is not suitable for people who are aftaid of heights or people who don't like camping. It is not suitable for children under 12, and not advised for children under 16 unless they are physically fit and determined. All children must be accompanied by an adult. If you do not participate in regular physical activity, or have any illnesses, medical advice is recommended prior to participating.

Venue: Lombok, Indonesia.

Experience Length: The experience takes 3 days and 2 nights. However, depending on flights, you may need to spend longer in Lombok.

Booking: Please book at least four weeks in advance.

Numbers: This experience is for one person, but participants will be placed in groups of 2-4 people. Participants can form their own groups if they choose.

Spectators: Not suitable for spectators.

Weather: This experience is weather dependant and paricipants should check the best time of year to participate. Generally, taking this trip between November and March is inadvised becasue of expected rain.

What to take: Participants need to bring hiking clothes, good hiking boots, personal toiletries and medications, head torch, wet weather gear, and warm clothes for nights and summit. This experience involved altitiude and it is very cold at night. Walking poles are recommended. Porters will carry all food, water, cooking equipment, and camping equipment, but participants will need to carry their own clothing and personal items. Participants will receive guidelines (including lists of required equipment and clothing) at time of redemption.
